Black History Month traditionally celebrates heroes of the past. This ignores one simple truth – Black history is still being written every day across America.
Stored at Hennessy’s Maison in Cognac, the archive chronicles Black culture in the present day through a collection of filmic and printed matter. The archive launched in February 2018 during Black History Month with a short film featuring NYC street photographer Andre Wagner and will continue to grow and evolve, celebrating black culture as it happens across America.
